To shrink the
hemorrhoid and its blood vessels, medicine (Phenol in Almond oil) is injected
into the mucous membrane near the hemorrhoid. This medicine causes sclerosis
(thrombosis/clotting) of veins. This method is reserved for the smallest of
hemorrhoids.
